Mermaid Frolicks

Standard

I saw this ‘bubble effect’ on a card on Pinterest and thought to use it as a background for a mermaid card. The mermaid here is stamped, and cut out. I used a stamping tool, a bit like a Misti tool if you’ve heard of one. Its shaped like a large CD cover and you can place/stick your stamp onto it and keep re-stamping until the image is correct, if needed. After many years of messy stamping, this tool is my favourite now! Here I used three different colours for the mermaid tail. This tool is great for that. The waves are coloured with Distress oxide inks. I used a stencil for the bubbles background, dipped into wet Oxide inks. All unbranded stamps and dies.

About Denise Fletcher

I have been creating cards for about ten years now, and still get a kick out of it. Ive learnt a lot of techniques along the way that are fun to try! I am a former member of docrafts.com Design Team (2014) which I did for a year and loved it. At the moment I'm just creating for my own pleasure! I create the odd mixed media piece but at the moment it's mainly Cards. I hope you enjoy my work.
